Returning to the Buffalo with my stall

What a lovely, inspiring evening yesterday was!
A few months after attending their fantastic BITE Market, I returned to The Buffalo (Winton, Bournemouth) with my stall for a solo trader evening.
I felt so welcome from the moment I stepped inside. I was greeted by the manager with warmth, and granted freedom to set up my stall as and where I wished. I was offered food and soft drinks, and the bar regulars showed interest and appreciation for my art.

The first couple of hours were fairly quiet; however after 8pm the evening came alive thanks to Tim Somerfield’s excellent live set. As a musician myself, I was impressed not only by his fantastic voice and musicianship, but also by his use of (what I’m pretty sure were) a loop station and vocal harmony pedals to create beats and an overall rich sound.

I really have to give The Buffalo recognition for their efforts in encouraging and supporting independent creativity. By regularly hosting such initiatives, they are really contributing in keeping the Bournemouth creative scene alive and vibrant. I believe that allowing creative energies to circulate and even just briefly touch other people’s lives does generate a powerful “butterfly effect”… you never know how your art or music can inspire others and feed the flame of creativity in your community and way beyond.
